If you need to see a GP urgently when the surgery is closed please telephone the out-of-hours Service on 111.
The service is run by a group of GP’s who work on a rota basis to provide emergency cover. If you contact the out-of-hours service you may be offered verbal advice, asked to attend a GP unit, or you may be offered a home visit.
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
You can also obtain 24 hour general medical advice by accessing the NHS 111 Website.
111 is the NHS non-emergency number. It's fast, easy and free. Call 111 and speak to a highly trained adviser, supported by healthcare professionals.
